How it works

  1. 01

    Drop the client's PDF statement

It opens in your browser's memory. It is never uploaded — there is nothing to upload it to.

  2. 02

    Check the extraction, free

Full preview with editable column mapping, per-row confidence scores, and a reconciliation check: opening balance + transactions = closing balance, shown to the penny.

  3. 03

    Export for your software

Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage, FreeAgent, CSV or Excel — each preset matches the platform's current import spec exactly.

Template-based. Not AI.

Each supported bank has a fixed layout template, and extraction is deterministic: the same statement in, the same result out, every time. Numbers are read from the PDF's own text and cross-checked against the running balance — never predicted, never "corrected", never guessed. When something doesn't parse cleanly, the row is flagged for your review instead.

Client confidentiality, by architecture

Cloud converters work by taking custody of your client's statements. This one can't: it is a static page whose processing runs entirely on your computer. There is no upload endpoint, no processing server, no third-party API touching file contents.

You don't have to take that on trust. The assurance bar on every page runs a live network monitor that counts every byte of outbound request data — open your browser's network tab alongside it and verify.

The only network call in the app: Your licence key is verified online. Your files never are.

Frequently asked questions

Is client statement data uploaded to your servers?

No — there are no servers to upload to. The PDF is read by code running in your browser, the table is rebuilt on your computer, and the export file is written straight to your Downloads folder. The assurance bar at the top of every page shows a live, measured count of file data sent over the network: it reads 0 KB because nothing is ever sent. Your licence key is verified online. Your files never are.

What exactly is free, and what is paid?

Free gets you the full accuracy proof on any statement: complete parsing, the full on-screen preview with editable column mapping and per-row confidence, and the full reconciliation check. Exports are capped at the first 25 transactions and marked as a preview. A Solo licence ($39 one-time) removes the cap; Firm adds batch processing. There are no other differences — we don't hold accuracy hostage.

Which banks are supported?

Layout templates cover Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, NatWest, Santander, Halifax, Nationwide, Monzo, Starling and Revolut Business, plus a generic fallback that detects columns from the statement's own layout. If a column is picked up wrongly, the mapping controls let you correct it before exporting.

Which formats can I export?

Xero bank-statement CSV, QuickBooks Online CSV (3-column and 4-column), Sage bank import CSV, FreeAgent statement CSV, plus generic CSV and Excel (XLSX). Each preset follows the platform's current documented import format — date format, sign convention, headers and column order.

Do scanned or photographed statements work?

Not yet. The converter reads the text layer of digital-native PDFs — the kind downloaded from online banking. Scans have no text layer; rather than run error-prone OCR on financial data, the app tells you plainly and stops. OCR is on the roadmap, not in the product.

How does licensing work? Do I need an account?

No accounts. Checkout runs through Polar and emails you a licence key; paste it into the app once and it stays activated on this browser, with a 14-day grace period if you're offline. Your licence key is verified online. Your files never are.

Is this AI? Will it hallucinate numbers?

No AI touches your figures. The parser is template-based: each supported bank has a fixed layout template, and extraction is deterministic arithmetic on the PDF's own text — the same statement produces the same output, every time. Where a value doesn't parse cleanly the row is flagged for review; nothing is ever guessed.

Is the reconciliation check trustworthy?

It is arithmetic, shown in full: opening balance plus every extracted transaction must equal the closing balance, to the penny. If it doesn't, the check fails visibly and the rows that need review are highlighted. The same check ships in a downloadable reconciliation report you can attach to your working papers.
